After the massive success of season 1, fans have eagerly awaited the return of the popular Netflix series. With a diverse cast and a dark superhero story, many fell in love with the show and could not wait for the 2nd season. However, many were left to wonder how would Netflix follow-up the success of the first season. The original season was released in February of 2019. A year passed and no new announcement had been made about the official release date of season 2. Although many knew filming had concluded, no official release date had been announced. Now the wait is finally over. The Umbrella Academy Season 2 is finally out.

In May 2020, the official release date was announced with a teaser trailer. In the trailer, the main cast dances to “I Think We’re Alone Now” by Tiffany. At the time of its release, many fans were frustrated with the lack of news regarding the series. The trailer feels fitting in relation to the end of season 1 when the group jumps through a portal to avoid the apocalypse. Now just a few hours into the second season’s release, articles are coming out spoiling the story. Instead, we will just briefly tie in how the teaser trailer ties into the premises of season 2.

At the start of season 2, the audience is thrown into yet another conflict. This time, the apocalypse has come to the 1960s. Number 5 has landed in a warzone by himself and is uncertain where his family is. Leading up to this war zone, we see various members dropped into an empty alley wondering where the others are. Each member is thrown into a time period by themselves and must find a way to survive on their own. In an attempt to avoid another apocalypse, five must reunite his family and unravel what has transpired to set off this new one.
