The Old Guard 2 adds Kill Bill‘s Uma Thurman and Crazy Rich Asians‘ Henry Golding to the cast of the highly anticipated comic book-based movie. They will star with returning cast members of the 2020 Netflix action movie with Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne (If Beale Street Could Talk), Matthias Schoenaerts (The Danish Girl), Marwan Kenzari (Aladdin), Luca Marinelli (Trust), Veronica Ngo (Da 5 Bloods), and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Within 28 days of the action-packed movie’s release, the first movie became a massive hit for the streamer, with 186 million hours viewed. Adapting from the comic of the same name by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernández, the story follows a group of immortal mercenaries trying to keep their identities a secret. What the story will be for the sequel is unknown.

Directing the stars like Uma Thurman and Henry Golding for The Old Guard 2 is Victoria Mahoney (Yelling to the Sky). She replaced the original film director, Gina Prince-Bythewood (Shots Fired). Mahoney has mostly worked on TV like You, Lovecraft Country, and The Morning Show. Greg Rucka (Whiteout), who wrote the first movie, will return to pen the script for the anticipated sequel.

David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Theron, Beth Kono, AJ Dix, Marc Evans, and Prince-Bythewood will produce. Rucka will executive produce.
