Black Friday appeared to be very successful for the Sony PS4 console. Sales were at its highest peak since it launched back in November 2013.

As noted by GFK Chart-Track, Black Friday helped get the highest PS4 sales in the UK at launch. It managed to even beat out last year’s Black Friday sales.

Due to the rise in sales of the PlayStation 4, this propelled FIFA 17 to the top of the charts. As always, football/soccer is the most popular sport in the UK and FIFA sales are always dominant.

FIFA 17 ended the winning streak of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The newest Call of Duty game dropped to number 2 on the chart. The two annual franchises even managed to beat out the Pokemon games.

Pokemon Sun was more popular as it was third while Pokemon Moon was fourth. GFK notes that if combined sales were taken into account, they would have beaten FIFA 17. This goes to show us the popularity of the Pokemon franchise.

It will be interesting to see how things fare over in North America. The Xbox One S has been selling well lately, although the Sony is not one to just give up so easily.
