Do you recall Ubisoft’s indie partnership Roller Champions from long ago? If your answer is no, then you aren’t alone. The game disappeared off the face of the Earth after being announced by Ubisoft as an Originals title. Out of the blue, it received several trailers today alongside a release date of one week from today! Don’t believe me? Check out the Game Overview trailer below.
What Exactly is Roller Champions?
Seeing as many of you likely aren’t aware of what it is, Roller Champions is an indie game where two teams of three duke it out in an oval-shaped arena for roller skating glory. Your team and the opposing enemies must skate around four checkpoints across the map with a ball, then throw it into the goal to score your team a point. You can also complete multiple laps to score extra points, up to five points for three complete laps without losing the ball. The first team to five points wins the game, thus netting you extra points towards new cosmetics for your champions. All of this takes place across multiple modes such as Quick Match, Custom Match, Limited Time modes, and the ever-exciting Ranked mode.
Seeing as this is a game released after 2017, you’ll have a Battle Roller Pass to complete as you play matches and earn experience. A free track gives you plenty of goodies to look forward to, though those who fork over a bit of extra cash can get the premium track and score plenty of extra loot. Want to see more? Have a look below at yet another trailer that has a story of its own to tell.
In the meantime, what are your thoughts on Ubisoft’s Roller Champions? Will you be trying it when it releases on May 25, or are you not much of a sports fan? Let me know!
