Ubisoft, being well-known in terms of Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Watchdogs, etc., will now be rebranding their future titles with the name “Ubisoft Originals.” The first initiation of the news came up last week when Ubisoft announced  The Division: Heartland, being a free-to-play spin-off coming later this year.

A spokesman from Ubisoft answered the question of their new label, where players were curious as to whether it meant something more. To where they conveyed today,

Essentially meaning that Ubisoft has rebranded future published titles under this new name.

Whilst this isn’t anything new to Ubisoft, the publisher has rebranded its content in the past. Such as the rebrand of “Uplay,” which is now known as “Ubisoft Connect.” So there was no doubt on Ubisoft changing things up again with the name “Ubisoft Originals” towards future titles.

Furthermore, the new title “Ubisoft Originals” looks to be exclusive to Ubisoft games. However, this could mean that they are in tabs with other companies to either work alongside or partner up in terms of newly released content. As a result, Ubisoft is looking to be working more on exclusive titles (prediction) due to the rebrand revolving around “Original” content.

A big step seems to be under construction. As Ubisoft lately has been busy in regards to changing things up. Fans would say that this type of change is beneficial; however, things could always turn for the worse if the change is not conveyed well. This type of change revolving around the rebrand is harmless, as Ubisoft is just confirming what is theirs and what is not.

Overall, change is always good to see. Fans always want something new so that a rebrand could mean a better future for the company and its fans. But time will tell…
