Ubisoft’s The Division 2 is set to release in the next 12 months, according to a new financial report published earlier today by the French gaming company.
In Ubisoft’s full-year 2017 to 2018 fiscal report, the company mentioned that The Division 2 is set to launch as part of its full-year 2018 to 2019 outlook. That means The Division 2 could launch in the next 12 months, as the company’s current fiscal year began in April 2018 and ends by April 2019.
Ubisoft also said that it will release “three new AAA games” this fiscal year, which includes The Crew 2 and “an unannounced franchise title” alongside The Division 2. In total, Ubisoft expects to sell 19 million units between all three games.
Tom Clancy’s The Division originally launched for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in March 2016, just less than three years after it was unveiled during Ubisoft’s E3 2013 press conference. The online third-person shooter throws players into an apocalyptic New York City ravaged by an unknown virus, which the player attempts to counter as part of an elite group known as The Division.
Theoretically, The Division 2 could arrive as soon as this year, but Ubisoft could just as well push the game’s release to Q1 2019. Either way, fans will have to wait for an official release date as Ubisoft’s fiscal report doesn’t mention any particular date beyond the current fiscal year. Ubisoft’s fiscal report also doesn’t mention Beyond Good & Evil 2, which means fans may have to wait longer than 12 months for the game’s release.
