With a physical edition of E3 sidelined for yet another year due to the pandemic, Ubisoft announced today plans to host an E3-replacement digital showcase this June under the Ubisoft Forward umbrella. The major developer-publisher confirmed it will beam out Ubisoft Forward 2021 to audiences worldwide on Saturday, June 12 at 12 PM PT/3 PM EDT/8 PM BST.
Details are a little scarce as of writing other than a confirmed date and time, with Ubisoft only updating the Forward website to include a promise of fresh details about what’s in the works at its numerous studios scattered across the globe. It reads:
Much like last year, it’s likely Ubisoft will drop information as the date approaches. However, Ubi’s slate of upcoming releases isn’t exactly a mystery, and we can speculate with some confidence about what’s in store.
What to Expect From Ubisoft Forward E3 2021
Far Cry 6 is a prime candidate after the developer delayed the open-world first-person shooter from an initial release date of February 18, 2021, to an undefined date later this year. Riders Republic, a spiritual successor to Alpine extreme sports sim Steep, suffered a similar fate with Ubisoft pushing back release to sometime later this year, as did the remake of the cult classic Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. News about all three is well overdue.
As for more elusive titles, fans will be hungering for a new look at Beyond Good and Evil 2. Much the same applies to Ubisoft sea-faring pirate adventure Skull & Bones, especially after a ‘new vision’ has derailed the game’s development since Ubisoft first unveiled it in its original iteration back at E3 2017.
