AGOS, like many other games, posits humanity seeking out a planet to inhabit. While it may venture into science fiction, any research into the idea seems welcome. With our population increasing, the limited space on Earth grows crowded. In an effort to aid humanity’s survival, we must seek out other planets. Only by finding those similar to Earth can we achieve this.

In the year 2057, humankind must venture away from the home they’ve always known. Boarding hundreds of ships to escape a doomed planet, they put their faith in the hands of artificial intelligence. Will finding a new home be a success?

AGOS – Exploring Space in VR

Exploring space in 3D has always been a desire for gamers. Since we saw the first iteration of such in movies, we’ve done our best to reach that dream. Normally, space-themed games such as AGOS put the players in control of a human. This time around, Ubisoft shift things by having players act as the AI of a human-made space vessel.

There’s no hope left for the Earth, so the last remnants of the human race must move on. As the AI of their vessel, you must guide the human survivors to a new inhabitable planet. Using inventive physics-based gameplay, the AI (player) will be tasked with upgrading the ship. Doing so will implement the use of space probes the player controls.

To ensure the vessel remains space-worthy will require gathering materials. One can harvest resources from asteroids, find them aboard abandoned space stations, or trade with other ships.

Ubisoft’s AGOS: A Game of Space can be played on the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Valve Index. Head over to Steam and add the game to your wishlist.
