In the documents obtained by E! News, it was revealed that the 9-1-1: Lone Star actor died from the effects of fentanyl on June 16.
The autopsy report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner stated that the 18-year-old’s death was ruled accidental. In a media release on Dec. 29, the actor’s father stated that the late ambitious, hard-working actor was battling deep and persistent depression.
David further revealed that Tyler found it difficult to find relief even though he was actively seeking treatment. This made him resort to experimenting with several drugs in a bid to overcome his mental battles.
It’s saddening to see Tyler Sanders’ parents speak up after the cause of his death was revealed. However, David noted that as they mourn the actor’s demise, the family will take intentional steps to share Tyler’s story to help others.

Following David’s statement was Ginger’s, his mother. As expected, she stated that losing her son to fentanyl poisoning has been difficult. The bereaved mother wants people to know that she never believed that this could happen to her family.
She went on to state that the Emmy nominee had a strong support system and still couldn’t beat depression. This made him seek deep connections to make people around him less worried.
While he battled depression, he was all about love. He loved God, and people, and did his best every day, according to Ginger.

Losing such great talent to the hands of death forced many stars to honor the actor. Just Add Magic: Mystery City director Joe Nussbaum honored Tyler’s memory by creating the “Do More 4 Tyler” initiative. It aims to implement a seminar for child actors, according to the press release.
Nussbaum wrote that Tyler was focused on his career he was glad that he had the opportunity to work with him.
