Two Point Hospital, the spiritual successor to Theme Hospital, released on PC back in August of last year and was received extremely well by critics and fans alike. Since then, fans have been dying to hear more about a release for the Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Thankfully, that release is now on the horizon, even if we all still have some time to wait for it. While no solid release date has been forthcoming there is now a release window to look forward to. The first half of 2020.
Two Point Hospital was originally due to launch on consoles at some point this year but has now been pushed back to ensure the game reaches us in quality condition. The first half of the year is a pretty huge window, but hopefully, that will mean there are no further delays.
Mark Webley, who is the game director over at Two Point Studios, had this to say regarding the move:
I feel as if I’ve been writing this a lot recently but I’d much rather a game was delayed, worked on and released as complete as it can be without having to rely on a huge day one patch. Those things anger me more than rip off DLC and loot boxes.
Here’s hoping that console players will get an actual release date soon, even if it is quite far away. If the Steam reviews are anything to go by, us console players will have a great time managing our very own hospital at some point in the near future.
In the meantime, should you be desperate for some hospital-based simulation, you could always just go and play Theme Hospital or pop out and buy a PC.
