DONTNOD has released a new teaser for their upcoming game, Twin Mirror. The narrative adventure game will task an investigative journalist to discover the secrets of his hometown.

First announced back in 2018, the game has not received much news regarding any updates. This teaser was a part of the PC Gaming Show, one of the many alternatives to promoting games due to a lack of an E3 this year.

In Twin Mirror you play as Sam Higgs, an investigative journalist who has returned to his hometown in West Virginia. While he is there to say goodbye to a friend, the story will become broader in discovering the mysteries of the town itself.

The teaser trailer does not show gameplay, but the assumption would be the game plays akin to DONTNOD’s other popular game series, Life is Strange. The game will take into account the actions you take in determining the story, so your actions will matter.

One way Twin Mirror will differ from previous DONTNOD titles is its release method. Life is Strange, Life is Strange: Before the Storm and Life is Strange 2 released as episodic games, with each episode release varying from one to multiple months.

However, Twin Mirror will launch as one complete game when it releases. While the episodic format harkened back the classic era of television storytelling, the long waits between episodes would severely damper enthusiasm to care about the narrative.

Another new venture for DONTNOD is that this game will be their first self-published title. This is thanks due to a collaboration with Epic Games.

Twin Mirror Will Release on PS4, Xbox One and Epic Games Store

Twin Mirror is set to release in 2020, and at this point will still be coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. For the PC release, the game will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for one year.
