Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is arriving on the Nintendo Switch in just over a week. After having been announced earlier this Summer that the classic game would be joining the first game in the series, we now have a release date.

A posting on the UK Nintendo eShop has confirmed that Turok 2 will be launching on the Switch on August 9th. It’s just the latest in what has become a long line of retro games being launched on the console as Nintendo continues to make its own mark in the video game world.

Old games, in general, have been making a big comeback over the last few years, but the love of retro games has seemed to accelerate in 2019 especially. Earlier this week, Bethesda brought the entirety of the original Doom trilogy to … basically every platform available. This included mobile devices and the Nintendo Switch.

For those not familiar with the plot in Turok 2, the UK Nintendo eShop listing has a helpful synopsis listed:

The game promises to offer up 35 different enemies to fight and 20 different weapons to fight with. Both of those features were quite impressive back in October of 1998. It’s been over 20 years since gamers were able to get their hands on Seeds of Evil on a current console. It will be interesting to see how it holds up.

Obviously, those who are looking to play Turok 2 on the Nintendo Switch aren’t looking for a game that is going to compete with PS4 and Xbox One games in terms of visuals. Most will simply be happy if it’s still fun to play.

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil will arrive on the Nintendo Switch on August 9th with a price tag of $19.99.
