A few days ago, we got news about a possible Destiny 2 subscription service coming this year. Some people were worried about it while others weren’t that preoccupied. According to some data miners, the service would most likely include all expansions at a reasonable cost. This wasn’t such a bad idea. Well, it turns out April’s Fools made its way to December because the data mine, leaks, and everything regarding the Destiny 2 subscription service were fake. Users can rest easy knowing that Bungie has no plans to do that. Or, well, at least not yet in an official manner.

The Destiny 2 subscription service data mine turned out to be fake and data miners were just ‘trolling’

As you can see, the ones that supposedly data mined this information claim that it was just a joke. They revealed that seeing how the news became that big overnight. The users have now apologized and everything seems to be fine. This isn’t the first time people have made significant fake leaks or data mines from games, but this one really had the community worried. While a Destiny 2 subscription service wouldn’t be too crazy due to other games doing it, it seems it won’t happen yet.

UPDATE: The “datamine” about Destiny’s subscription was FAKE. Popular Destiny 2 dataminers have apologized and admitted to trolling everyone about finding “possible Destiny 2 subscription code” in the game files.

Destiny 2: How to find Spider Location in the Eliksni Quarter

Now, according to the post, they can only data mine things that are happening in the current season. What this means is that whatever is coming with Lightfall is still a mystery. With the release date coming quite soon, users are eager to know what else it might bring to this fun MMO from Bungie. So, while the data mine was fake, we could actually get a Destiny 2 subscription service in the future if the developers decide to do it. For now, no official news is out about that, and all we can do is wait for Bungie to say anything about its plans for future content.
