Konami sets out to prove that classic systems are still a must-buy.
When Konami inexplicably revealed the TurboGrafx-16 Mini, we were a little skeptic to say the least. But it turns out that the company is going all in with this one, as we reported last month that the console across both the English and Japanese versions will house 50 games. In a special trailer, Konami has unveiled an additional 7 games that will be included when it launches in March 2020.
Here are the newly announced titles.
- Serie Senshi Spriggan
- Spriggan Mark 2
- Dragon Spirit
- Galaga ’88
- The Genji and the Heike Clans
- The Legend of Valkrie
- Splatterhouse
As you can see, most of the titles revealed were specifically released only in Japan when they originally launched. With the exception of Splatterhouse, it’s more than likely that a lot of gamers won’t recognize them. Truthfully, the TurboGrafx-16 is sort of a niche system in an of itself. Named the PC Engine in Japan, it came out in the West as the TurboGrafx-16. Billed as a step up from the 8-bit console era, the system boasted some impressive graphics at the time, along with a great lineup of games.
