The first-person shooting game Turbo Overkill arrives on Early Access today, just for all you PC gamers everywhere. Published by Apogee Entertainment, they describe it as a “hyper-fast-paced cyberpunk FPS” this game attempts to balance an astute mix of retro style and modern graphics, hoping to deliver a shooter like no other. Trigger Happy Interactive is hoping to further release Turbo Overkill on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One later this year.
Apogee Entertainment is no stranger to making top-class gaming titles; they are the publishers behind well-loved games like Max Payne, Duke Nukem 3D, Wolfenstein 3D, as well as many other electrifying games. So, expect it to be an incredibly fun shooter with secret-filled levels, crazy kills, and with movement so fluid you’ll think you’re swimming. The announcement trailer for Turbo Overkill was released last month but check it out below if you missed it.
What is Turbo Overkill all about?
Turbo Overkill includes eight multi-layered stages, as well as some secret arenas, a range of difficulty settings, and a plethora of character upgrades and unlockable content that you won’t know what to do with yourself. There are roughly about five to eight hours of gameplay, which might not seem like a lot, but it is jammed-packed with fun challenges, guns, and some quality-of-life features.
About Turbo Overkill anyway, this first-person shooter has you playing as Johnny Turbo (what a name, by the way), who has returned home to the cyberpunk land known as Paradise, where he soon finds out that a rogue AI called Syn, has taken control of thousands of augmented bodies. Johnny must take matters into his own hand and maybe do some augmenting of his own so he can defeat this evil AI where it stands and return the city to its former glory.
Sam Pebble, who is one half of Trigger Happy Interactive, had this to say in a recent interview,
As we’ve already mentioned, you don’t need to wait to play this game (well, you console gamers do); get yourself down to Early Access now to give Turbo Overkill a try, and you might end up loving it.
