Publishing label Finji confirmed the upcoming arrival of the Xbox exclusive Tunic title for PlayStation consoles. The announcement for the PlayStation version of Tunic appeared during the 2022 Sony State of Play event. Players can expect the single-player adventure game to launch onto their PlayStation consoles this September 27th, 2022.

Tunic, Once An Xbox and PC Exclusive, is Coming to PlayStation

Players will take on the role of an adventurous fox in the world of Tunic. Across the land lie numerous deadly enemies and magical secrets, coupled with puzzles and Soulslike combat to boot. The game takes direct inspiration from classic The Legend of Zelda games, where the hero travels across a vibrant and strange land.

Tunic is played through an isometric view where the camera is focused more above the ground. This works in both general and combative gameplay, which is a mix between the aforementioned Soulslike and Zelda formulas. In addition to the playful action, Tunic also requires immense exploration from the player to progress. Throughout their playthroughs, they’ll need to collect particular abilities and weapons to bypass certain areas. Not only is exploration imperative to the journey, but also the in-game manual plays a big part in Tunic. They’re modeled after the retro gaming instruction booklets that would always come with a game’s packaging.

Tunic‘s development comes from Andrew Shouldice, with final publishing on March 16th, 2022, from Finji for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

It goes without saying that this title is brimming with exciting fantasy. You can catch a glimpse of Tunic right here with the official PS5 State of Play trailer. Be sure to mark your calendars for the September 27th, 2022, release of the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 versions.
