Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will be getting a demo on June 25 for Nintendo Switch, Capcom announced on today’s E3 2021 Showcase stream. The PC version will follow later when the game launches worldwide on July 9. Like the first game, the save data from the demo can be transferred to the full game as well.

Additionally, Capcom also revealed the first free title update for Monster Hunter Stories 2. Due out on July 15, the update is adding Monster Hunter Rise‘s Palamute companion as a partner Monstie. You can add the Canyne into your party by hatching an egg obtained from the ★5 Co-Op Expedition Quest “Palamute Den” once the update drops. Described as a perfect companion when riding into battle, the fearless Palamutes will soar to the heavens and slice the wind with the throw of a blade. Its Kinship Skill is called Rising Axel.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will be having a simultaneous release on July 9, 2021, for PC and Nintendo Switch. It will have co-op quests that lets you team up with another Rider in multiplayer missions along with a PvP mode. According to a Capcom leak, the game will feature 140 monsters in total; at least nine of them are from Monster Hunter: World. Including Nergigante, Legiana, Kulve Taroth, Bazelgeuse, Anjanath, Tobi-Kadachi, Paolumu, Pukei-Pukei, and Kulu-Ya-Ku. From 140, 90 of them will be recruitable as a monster partner called a Monstie.

Besides the Palamute Monstie, both Monster Hunter Stories 2 and Rise will have other crossover contents. By using Rise save data, you can unlock Kamura layered armor in Stories 2. While Stories save data lets you unlock Rider layered armor in Rise. Monster Hunter Rise is getting an event quest that rewards you with materials to craft a Tsukino layered armor for your Palico.
