Starship Troopers-themed RTS from developer The Artistocrats and publisher Slitherine Ltd (Warhammer 40K: Sanctus Reach, Battlestar Galactica Deadlocked), Starship Troopers: Terran Command, will be launching a free playable demo on Steam next week from Friday, October 1 to 7. The demo will be part of the Steam Next Festival, a six-day long event in which many upcoming games will be releasing demos, letting us all get a taste of them.
The Starship Troopers: Terran Command demo will contain two scenarios, one of them is the early mission called “Peace of Mine.” Here you have to command the Mobile Infantry to defend a central outpost that serves as the staging point to reactivate mining facilities. Of course, you will have to strategically clear out all bugs nests in the surrounding area to finish the mission. After all the only good bug is a dead bug.
David Sharrock, Executive Producer of Starship Troopers: Terran Command said in a statement that his team is not yet ready to commit to specific a release and is hoping for fans’ feedback from the Steam Next Festival demo over on the game’s official Discord server that will be opened to the public once the demo drops. The Artistocrats promise to make any necessary changes according to players’ honest opinions so the team can ensure that the game lives up to fans’ expectations:
Terran Command RTS will be the latest Starship Troopers licensed games after the 2016’s digital pinball table Stern Pinball Arcade: Starship Troopers for the Switch, PS4, and PC as well as the (now delisted) mobile-exclusive shooter Starship Troopers: Invasion – Mobile Infantry in 2012. Let’s hope the game can deliver both fun strategy gameplay and subtle, dark humor from Verhoeven’s 1997 cult classic. Stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for more nerd and gaming updates.
