Tribes of Midgard is finally launching its latest update, titled Season 2: Serpent Saga. With this new update, you can find the new Shipyard, boats, swimming, and most importantly for this guide, a new Saga Boss! To reach the boss, you have to build the new Shipyard, find three beacons and activate them across the map, then head to the final arena to tackle the monstrous serpent Jörmungandr. As this is a Saga Boss, after all, it can be challenging to take on if you don’t know how best to deal with it. No need to worry though, as, in this guide, I’ll explain exactly how to defeat Jörmungandr in Tribes of Midgard!

How to Defeat Jörmungandr in Tribes of Midgard

To defeat Jörmungandr, we must first understand its various attacks. When tackling it, it will attempt any of the following attacks against you:

  • A head butt into the arena’s floor
  • A tail smash onto the arena
  • Several poison pools

The first two are for the most part easy to avoid. While the head butt is a more subtle animation before it does the attack, the tail will merely be visible prior to its smash. Just make sure you get as far away as possible. The poison pools are severely more challenging though, as stepping in them will not only damage you but cause you to constantly drain mana. The earlier uses in the fight aren’t too bad, as it’s as simple as avoiding its spitball. Later on though, it’ll fire multiple which can be harder to steer clear of. One area that can be a good safety need is in the outer edge of the crescent platform’s center, as its wide-range pool attacks won’t hit you from there. The more you avoid these, the easier the fight can be. It also helps if you have a bow at the ready, as it’ll allow you to attack the boss while the poison pools are active. Keep whittling down the boss like this, and you should make quick work of it.

If you find yourself still having troubles, it may be best to go in with the new Jörmungandr armor set. This may seem obvious, but it can be especially strong against him as it provides heavy resistance to poison. You should also have a healthy array of mana potions alongside health potions, as this will counteract the mana draining effect considerably and let you trigger more heavy attacks. Hopefully, in the end, this will help you defeat Jörmungandr and alter Ragnarök.
