According to a Square Enix press release, the 2020 Trials of Mana remake has surpassed the 1 million copies milestone, now making it the best selling title in the franchise. The sales number combines both physically shipped copies as well as those sold digitally. Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda had stated last year during the August financial briefing results that “sales of Trials of Mana are so strong that they have significantly surpassed our initial expectations.”

To commemorate the occasion, the company has also released a brand new illustration featuring the main and supporting cast from the game, which can be seen above.

Trials of Mana released last year and is a complete 3D remake of the original Seiken Densetsu 3, which first released in Japan only for the Super Famicon. The remake released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC on April 24.

The latest update for the game dropped in October 2020 and featured two brand new difficulty levels: No Future, which limits abilities and the number of items that can be equipped, and Very Hard, a more standard difficulty jump featuring stronger enemies. The update also includes the Rabite Slipper accessory gained through No Future mode and the ability to transfer class change costumes into a new playthrough.
