People is reporting this morning that one of the founding members of the Whitest Kids U’ Know, Trevor Moore, has passed away. He died Friday night after being involved in an accident, no details have been reported as to what actually happened. Moore was 41 years of age at the time of his passing.

Trevor Moore’s Early Life

Trevor Paul Moore was born in Montclair, New Jersey on April 4, 1980 to a pair of Christian folk-rock singers, Mickey, and Becki Moore. They gained major success in the 1980s when their single, Love Song for Number Two, reached the number 2 spot on the U.S. Christian rock charts. Traveling took its toll on young Trevor, he switched schools constantly. It wasn’t until the age of 15 until Trevor’s creative side came out as he became a published cartoonist and at age 16 his comic strip, Cuddy, was actually published in The Charlottesville Observer. After graduating from the Covenant School in Charlottesville, Trevor began his college career as a broadcasting major when he attended Virginia Commonwealth University but eventually came around to finishing college with a BFA in film.

Professional Life

In 1997 The Trevor Moore Show premiered on public access for the people of Charlottesville, Virginia. The success from that led Trevor to sign a deal with Pax-TV that lasted 16 seasons before being canceled due to the fact that it was on too early and the content of the skits being deemed offensive. Then in 2004 he was an intern for Saturday Night Live while in his last year of college, crediting a lot of his comedic education to Lorne Michaels and the time he spent at SNL.

Then in 2004 Trevor Moore, Sam Brown and Zach Cregger created the infamous comedy troupe The Whitest Kids U’ Know. The group started by performing in bars and eventually garnered the interest of Comedy Central, MTV, and Sundance about working on a pilot.

Our condolences go to Moore’s family.
