The official Pokémon Unite Twitter page has revealed that the Trevenant will soon debut as the next fighter to join the roster in Pokémon Unite! This Ghost- and Grass-type Pokémon was first introduced to the series in Pokémon X & Y on for the Nintendo 3DS, and it’s been confirmed that it will officially be added to the game next week January 20. While the details on the exact moveset and abilities for Trevetant in Pokémon Unite have not been revealed yet, the trailer did specify that it would be a Defender while providing a quick overview of its movement and how it will look in-game.

This brings the current list of playable fighters in Pokémon Unite to include Greedent, Sylveon, Mamoswine, Blastoise, Blissey, Gardevoir, Zeraora, Pikachu, Charizard, Snorlax, Crustyle, Greninja, Eldegoss, Talonflame, Lucario, Venusaur, Mr. Mine, Slowbro, Absol, Machamp, Wigglytuff, Alolan Ninetails, Cramorant, Gengar, Carchomp, and Cinderace, and Decidueye, Tsarenna, Dragonite, and now Treveant, for a total of 30 playable characters.

Trevenant is the first new fighter to be added to Pokémon Unite since the release of Dragonite, who was put into the roster as part of the special Holiday Event. The Holiday Festivities event – which started on December 15, 2021, and will end on January 16 – includes several new outfits and skins for both Trainers and Pokémon, as well as several holiday-themed challenges and activities for players to enjoy. It is also is the second holiday-related event held for Pokémon Unite, the first being the Halloween Festival.

Players can still log in to receive special gifts such as reward boxes containing limited licenses and Trainer fashion items. Everyone can earn special event rewards with the Illumination and Photo Challenges while taking part in the Snowball Battle event in Shivre City where they can watch as their Pokémon are transformed into snowmen.
