Wizarding World fans have to deal with some disappointment today, as the new trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore has been delayed. This was announced via the official Fantastic Beast Twitter account with a tweet reading, “The eagerly awaited Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore trailer will not be revealed today. More to come very soon; thank you for your patience.” Fans who woke up excited for the announced trailer were surprised to see nothing released on any platform. DualShockers speculates that this delay may be due to the conflict occurring between Russia and Ukraine. The site is also speculating that the film itself may be delayed, although Warner Bros. has not made any announcement of the sort.
Promotion for The Secrets of Dumbledore has been heavy this week. Digital Spy reports that Jude Law announced the new trailer would be released today while describing the “privilege” he has been given to play Albus Dumbledore. Additionally, fans were treated to several promotional posters earlier this week featuring different Fantastic Beasts characters. This was all in preparation and build-up for the new trailer. However, it appears we won’t be seeing this trailer until further notice.
The first trailer for The Secrets of Dumbledore was released in December. That trailer showcased Dumbledore teaming up with Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and his team of misfits as they work together against Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) and his growing army as they aim to take control of the wizarding world. The film is presently set for release on April 15, although time will tell if that release date will remain set in stone.
