One of the easiest puzzles to solve in Tower of Fantasy‘s open world of Aesperia is the Black Nucleus Drone, which, despite its name, can also haul a Gold Nucleus. Similar to Chowchow Plants, Black Nucleus Drones can be found in multiple regions of the world map, and every one of them requires the same solution. However, the terrain of each region is quite diverse, including the enemies who inhabit the zones. Therefore, Tower of Fantasy wanderers should not expect to encounter the Black Nucleus Drone puzzles in similar positions in every area. For this reason, it is crucial to always check the minimap for the white-diamond-shaped icons indicating points of interest.
Solving Black Nucleus Drone Puzzles in Tower of Fantasy
Solving a Black Nucleus Drone is a similar process to a Dandelion puzzle in Tower of Fantasy. Using a ranged weapon, fire at the airborne drone to destroy it, resulting in its Nucleus falling to the ground. Alternatively, if the player is able to jump high enough to reach the Black Nucleus Drone, they can melee attack it as well.

Unlike the Lava Pit or Thornvines, Black Nucleus Drones in Tower of Fantasy do not require any specific elemental weaponry to take it down. Thanks to a demonstration by YouTube content creator ZaFrostPet, players can see that the R-rarity Composite Bow is capable of destroying the drone in one hit, similar to how shooting at a Black Nucleus-containing Dandelion can be opened using any armament. The Nucleus can be obtained while it is still falling mid-air, meaning that players do not need to wait for the reward to reach the solid ground to pick it up.
Finding and solving Black Nucleus Drone puzzles in Tower of Fantasy will advance players in their World Exploration of the region where the drone was located. Once Wanderers reach a specific milestone on their point-based progression bar, they can receive valuable rewards, such as Mighty Mushrooms or even new Outfits. Mighty Mushrooms permanently increase the player’s Endurance, providing them with more Stamina for combat and exploration. As for Outfits, these are usually unlocked once players reach around 85% World Exploration of a specific zone, giving player’s a cosmetic display of their diligence and perseverance to solve every puzzle and discover every possible point of interest on the map.
