The Heart of Lightning is a rare Magcore ore with volt elemental power. You can obtain it by fusing four Magcores or by defeating certain enemies. A great example is the Treasure Guard Disciple Esslewssor. This enemy is located at the Northern Ring Ranges of Astra. The Heart of Lightening also happens to be one of those materials that can be bought at the Weapon store for Two Black Gold. However, to make the purchase — to unlock the weapon — you must increase your Wanderer Level to 35. That means you must do some exploration of the game.

Examples of weapons that can be upgraded with the Heart of Lightning include Dual EM Stars, Thunderous Halberd, and Thunderblades. Your best chance at getting lots of this material is by collecting as many ores as possible because buying or defeating enemies are both expensive endeavors in terms of money and time.
Once you have the Heart of Lightening, you can upgrade your weapon by navigating to the Weapons menu on the top right side of the screen. From here, choose the weapon that you want to upgrade. The upgrade materials will appear on the lower left side. Choose Heart of Lightening. By completing the process, your weapon will automatically upgrade.
