Nintendo’s third quarter financial report was jammed full of amiibo news. Nintendo even presented a slide that revealed all of the top ten best selling amiibo figures by region. This, of course, doesn’t fully represent the demand for certain figures, as many have been sold out since launch. And while those might get additional production runs later on, for now all we can verify is which ones sold the most.
Those would be Link, Mario, Pikachu, Kirby, and Samus in the US. Other regions had some differences, which you can see above, but overall the top ten were littered with many of the same characters. Across all regions, the only figures to make it into the top ten were Link, Kirby, Mario, Marth, Pikachu, Yoshi, Samus, Captain Falcon, Pit, Little Mac, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Peach, Luigi, and Rosalina. That’s fifteen amiibo out of a possible 29 that are somewhat currently available. I say somewhat because the actual launch dates of the Wave 3 amiibo has been pretty scattered.
Most of the variety comes from the Japanese top ten list, which features many of the rare figures that can’t be found easily in other regions. Marth, Captain Falcon, Pit, and Little Mac could easily take spots on the US charts, but they have been extremely hard to find since launch. Hopefully the promised additional production runs happen and they can sell as well as they are meant to.
