Tom Holland is one of the biggest rising stars in Hollywood. Not only has the 23-year-old actor starred in a number of Marvel movies as Spider-Man, but he has also starred in recent Pixar movie, Onward. Acting across Will Smith in Spies In Disguise is certainly no small feat, either.
But shockingly, Holland was actually approached to do a Back to the Future remake. Speaking to BBC Radio 1’s film critic Ali Plumb, Holland revealed that he was approached to star in a remake of the classic film possibly.
“I’d be lying if I said there hadn’t been conversations in the past about doing some sort of remake,” the actor admitted, “but that film is the most perfect film – or one of the most perfect films – one that could never be made better.”
The actor further emphasized his position in an interview with ET, saying, “I would not be interested because that is a perfect movie.”
The question was brought up in both interviews due to a recent Deepfake video ‘starring’ Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr. In the video, posted by user EZRyderX47, Michael J. Fox’s face is replaced by Tom Holland’s in his role as Marty McFly. Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr., who co-starred with Holland in a few Marvel films, ‘plays’ Dr. Emmett Brown, his face replacing Christopher Lloyd’s.

This isn’t the first time EZRyderX47 has posted a Tom Holland-inspired Back to the Future video – they posted a solo one last September. They also released a video of Jim Carrey playing Dr. Brown.
But while Marty McFly is one iconic role Holland won’t play, he will be playing iconic videogame hero Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie. Scheduled for release for March 5, 2020, Holland will play a young version of Nathan Drake with Mark Wahlberg as Sully.
