Tom Holland is reportedly signing on for another Spider-Man trilogy. According to ComicBookMovie.com, online “scoopers” have been tweeting about an upcoming announcement that Holland has signed a deal with Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios for another three Spider-Man movies. It’s been almost a year since we last saw Holland don the Spidey suit in the hugely successful Spider-Man: No Way Home. During a press conference for that film, Holland said he wanted to take a break from playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man, a role he’d played essentially non-stop since 2016. If these rumors of Holland signing on for another Spider-Man trilogy are true, then it appears that this break will be much shorter than expected.
Tom Holland Reportedly Playing Spider-Man Three More Times
Few people expected Holland to stop playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man, especially after the major cliffhanger at the end of No Way Home. However, some rumors were afoot when it was revealed that Holland would not provide voicework for the Disney+ animated series Spider-Man: Freshmen Year. Regardless, Holland only expressed a desire to take a break from playing the character. He has at no point suggested that he wanted to retire from the role. And with a fourth Spider-Man movie rumored for 2024, and with Holland flat-out saying that he wants to work with Charlie Cox (Daredevil), this rumored Spider-Man trilogy with Holland as the star shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise.
While Tom Holland is certainly most known for Spider-Man, he’s also branched out in other films such as Uncharted, Cherry, and The Devil All the Time. While we all love seeing him use his acting chops outside the MCU, no one objects to seeing more of Tom Holland in the red suit in another Spider-Man trilogy. While this remains a rumor, there’s no doubt that Tom Holland will be back in the Spider-Man suit very soon.
