Bethesda designer Todd Howard was on hand at today’s big Apple event, where the new iPhone was confirmed, to show off The Elder Scrolls: Blades. Blades is due out on iOs this fall, Howard said.

The action-roleplaying game from Bethesda Game Studios is part of the larger Elder Scrolls world, but free-to-play on iOs and Android devices. Blades was first introduced during Bethesda’s E3 2018 showcase. An early access period is scheduled to kick-off later this year.

At the Apple event, Howard spoke about how the Elder Scrolls game will function on the new iPhone X line, and how he finds spiders terrifying.

There are big promises in store for Blades, which is Bethesda’s first shot at making a “massive” first-person RPG for mobile players. According to the developer, it’ll showcase “many hallmarks Elder Scrolls fans enjoy from the franchise,” including “console-quality environments,” magic, gear, skill upgrades, and “real-time fantasy battles,” Bethesda said at its announcement.

Players interested in signing up for the early access period can do so now on the Blades website.
