Todd and Julie Chrisley’s ex-daughter-in-law, Alexus Whilby, recently shared her unflattering opinion about her former in-laws’ sentencing. Todd and Julie’s sentences accrue for a total of 19 years, but Alexus thinks it’s too light for their crimes. Read on to get the details below.
Todd and Julie’s Ex-Daughter-In-Law Thinks They Got Off Too Easy
Todd and Julie’s ex-daughter-in-law, Alexus, in her interview with HollywoodLife, referred to the couple as the modern-day Bonny and Clyde. The couple was sentenced to serve 12 and 7 years in federal prison, respectively, on November 21. The celebrity couple was convicted of federal crimes, including bank fraud, tax fraud, and wire fraud.
Following Todd and Julie’s sentencing, their TV shows Chrisley Knows Best and Growing Up Chrisley were axed, leaving their children distraught.
HollywoodLife lately spoke to Kyle’s ex-wife, Alexus Whilby, who was married to him for four years, from 2014 until 2018. The news outlet also reported that Todd and Julie previously tried to subpoena Alexus in an unrelated civil case.
The 29-year-old claimed that Todd attempted to pressure potential witnesses like her to lie. Alexus admitted that she thinks that their combined 19-year prison sentence is little compared to their crimes.
The entrepreneur claimed that Todd and Julie knew what they were doing. She mentioned that ample evidence convinced the jurors the couple was wrong.
Todd Was Against Kyle’s Marriage To Alexus
Alexus also revealed that Todd didn’t approve of her marriage to his son at first. Kyle and Alexus got married in 2014 when the former was still under his father’s guardianship for substance-related issues.
Todd annulled the marriage as Kyle’s guardian, but the then-lovebirds remarried later that year. Alexus disclosed that her ex-father-in-law had no issues with her dating his son. However, he seemed to be uncomfortable with the idea of an interracial marriage between his son and his fiancee then.
However, Alexus clarified that Todd later grew to love her and changed his outlook as time passed. She also demanded an apology from the Chrisley family patriarch for his cutting remarks about her publicly.
Todd and Julie’s ex-daughter-in-law admitted that couldn’t happen but said she already forgave him in advance. Alexus also disclosed that she is praying for the whole family.
Todd could do well by apologizing to Alexus and everyone he hurt. Meanwhile, the Chrisleys are still convinced that Todd and Julie’s sentence is unfair and are planning to appeal.
