Following their conviction for fraud and tax evasion, TV personalities Todd and Julie Chrisley have been court-ordered to report to prison to commence their sentence in earnest. Court documents showed that the couple is expected to resume their respective prison sentences in maximum security facilities in Florida, located about two and a half hours’ drive away from each other.
The Chrisley Knows Best Stars To Commence Sentence In January
Per the legal papers, Todd will serve his jail time at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola, while his wife, Julie Chrisley, will begin her prison sentence at Federal Correctional Institution Marianna. A motion the U.S. Marshal’s Office filed on Monday mandates the two to report to these facilities on January 17. The two would remain in minimum security throughout the duration of their sentence.
This court order comes a month after Todd and Julie Chrisley of Chrisley Knows Best received individual prison sentences. Their conviction stemmed from their involvement in federal bank fraud and tax evasion. The Chrisley family patriarch landed a sentencing of 12 years, while Julie would serve seven years imprisonment. Additionally, the two would face sixteen months of probation following their release.
Notably, the couple’s former accountant, Peter Tarantino, also caught in the mix of their fraud scandal, did not slip off the hook. He would serve three years in prison and an additional three years of supervised release. The court mandated he reports to prison on May 1, 2023.
Todd And Julie Chrisley Plan To Appeal Their Prison Sentence
Despite the guilty verdicts they received, the TV personalities have maintained their innocence, voicing their intentions to appeal the sentences. The couple, via their attorney Alex Little of Burr & Forman LLP, insists the government lied to jurors about their taxes, and such errors instigated the jury’s verdict.
Todd and Julie Chrisley remain hopeful of finding a breakthrough in their case and, perhaps, escaping their prison sentence. Meanwhile, their kids, including granddaughter Chloe and 16-year-old son Grayson are distraught by their parent’s fate and reportedly cried after hearing their sentencing. With the two about to go behind bars for years, their adult daughter Savannah Chrisley may have to show up for her younger siblings and fill their parent’s shoes.
