Rocksteady is the Rampage-Relishin’ Rhino in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, who serves as the featured boss of the Streets of New York in “Episode 2: Big Apple, 3 PM.” Originally a human Russian arms dealer, Rocksteady was once known as Ivan Steranko, a tough soldier who fought in several wars across the globe. However, while getting into a scuffle with the Ninja Turtles, Ivan fell into a vat of Mutagen and transformed into an 8-foot-tall humanoid white rhino. Rocksteady attempted to get revenge on Shredder for the mutation but was quickly subdued into service. Therefore, the protagonists must beat Rocksteady in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge to complete Episode 2 and progress in their adventure.

Rocksteady Boss Fight in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge

To beat Rocksteady in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, players must manage dealing with the rhino’s ranged attacks and a non-stop assault from the Foot Clan. These Foot Clan members throw boomerang projectiles at players and will also explode upon death. Accordingly, positioning and skillfully timed reactions are the keys to getting through this boss fight in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge.

TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge – How to Beat Tempestra

Below is a list of boss mechanics in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge and a brief description of each ability that players should bear in mind during this boss fight to beat Rocksteady:

  • Blunt Kick: Rocksteady will unleash a single heavy kick in one direction, knocking back any struck targets. He will usually perform Blunt Kick whenever the player gets too greedy with their attacks.
  • Grenade Toss: Rocksteady will leap to one side of the arena and toss several Grenades onto the ground that explode after a short delay. Immediately dodge from this area to avoid damage.
  • Boomerang (Foot Clan Minion): Yellow Foot Clan enemies will swarm the arena and throw boomerangs at the players. Strike these boomerangs with perfect timing to hurl them back at their attackers. Be careful not to be too close to them when they die since they will explode upon death.
  • Tri-Shotgun Blast: Rocksteady will pull out his shotgun and fire three orb projectiles in a cone shape, traveling horizontally across the arena. He will do this three times, scanning the room from top to bottom. The best way to avoid this attack is by positioning oneself directly behind his body since he will not turn while executing this attack in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge.

TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
