Metalhead is a Reprogrammed Techno-Terrapin in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge that serves as the featured boss of Silicon Alley in “Episode 10: A Few Screws Loose.” Originally created by Donatello, Metalhead is a robot Turtle built to fight The Kraang, evil aliens from Dimension X. After defeating a Kraang droid, Donnie brought its metallic body parts back to the Sewer Lair and used its tech to assemble Metalhead. However, Shredder has gotten ahold of Metalhead, reprogramming the robot Turtle to do his bidding. Therefore, the protagonists must beat Metalhead in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge to complete Episode 10 and progress in their adventure.
Metalhead Boss Fight in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge
To beat Metalhead in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, players must approach the boss from the top portion of the room to attack it. Metalhead has an extending melee punch that travels horizontally and diagonally downward. However, the boss lacks any means to get players in the area north of its body in the room.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge – Where to Find Irma’s Diaries
Metalhead’s extending-arm punch is the most common way the boss will attack the Ninja Turtles. Therefore, attacking the robotic opponent from the blind spot mentioned above is an excellent strategy for dealing damage and avoiding being struck. Of course, this boss has several more mechanics that combatants should know. Below is a brief list of Metalhead’s abilities that players can learn to beat this foe in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge:
- Stretching Punch: Metalhead will extend both of its arms horizontally or diagonally downward, damaging anyone in the attack’s path.
- Jumping Kick: Metalhead will rear back for a moment before launching a flying kick in one direction.
- Mini Chompers: Metalhead will spawn several weak minions into the room that will chase after the Ninja Turtles and attempt to bite them.
- Shielded Bombardment: Metalhead will shield its body and fire missiles from its back. These projectiles will produce a small red circle on the red before hitting their target. To interrupt this ability, wait until a dud missile falls to the ground. Strike the rocket to send it back at Metalhead to stop the attack and damage the boss.
During this boss battle in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, it is possible to get stun-locked in a corner when Metalhead is doing Shielded Bombardment. Therefore, always stay around the middle portion of the room to have enough space to avoid attacks.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
