Kid Cudi released a trailer for his animated series Entergalactic with Netflix, which will be based on his upcoming album of the same name. The colorful trailer highlighted the stacked cast, and one of the actors announced for the Netflix project will be Timothée Chalamet from Dune and Call Me by Your Name, marking this his first animated role.
With a huge rapper like Kid Cudi, you would expect a star-studded cast for a Netflix series from him. It turns out that is correct as it will feature Ty Dolla $ign, Laura Harrier (Hollywood), Vanessa Hudgens (Tick, Tick…Boom!), Christopher Abbott (It Comes at Night), 070 Shake, Teyana Taylor (Coming 2 America), Jaden Smith (After Earth), Keith David (From Scratch), Arturo Castro (Yes Day), and Macaulay Culkin (American Horror Story).
Jabari (Mescudi) is striving to become a successful artist on the tough streets of New York City while dealing with his love life. When moving into a new apartment, he meets his neighbor and fellow artist, Meadow (Williams). They team up to achieve their dream of making it in entertainment. While the trailer focuses on this relationship, the Netflix series will have plenty of other characters like Timothée Chalamet as Jabari’s best friend, Jimmy.
The Netflix Timothée Chalamet starring series will be helmed by Kid Cudi and Ian Edelman (How to Make It in America). They will be writing it with Maurice Williams, which is his first writing credit. The three writers will executive produce with Kenya Barris, Fletcher Moules, Karina Manashil, and Dennis Cummings. Brett Alexander Nichols, Michael Penketh, and Nick Read will produce.
Get ready for an animated Timothée Chalamet
Entergalactic has no concrete date, but it is aiming to release this fall on Netflix. Meanwhile, the album of the same name by Kid Cudi will release later this year with no firm date either. The artist delivered the first single earlier this month, titled Do What I Want.
