Universal Pictures just released the trailer for the highly anticipated romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise. The Ticket to Paradise movie brings Hollywood big names Julia Roberts and George Clooney back together to the romantic comedy genre that so many fans miss seeing them in. The Ticket to Paradise trailer shows the fifth film the two best friends star in together; this time, they’re exes traveling to Bali to stop their daughters’ wedding from happening.

The Ticket to Paradise Trailer

Ticket to Paradise comes from Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again director Ol Parker, who directed and co-wrote the script for the upcoming film with Daniel Pipski. The description of the Ticket to Paradise trailer on Youtube revealed the plot of the upcoming RomCom.

Will the divorced couple find their way back in love after being apart for so long? As we’ve seen in the past, one common goal, the enemy(in this case, their daughters’ friendly fiancé), can bring two people so close together. We shall see when the Ticket to Paradise hits theaters later this year in October. As the tagline for Ticket to Paradise goes, “For better or for worse.”

Julia Roberts, George Clooney, and RomComs

Julia Roberts and George Clooney have a lasting bond that goes way back to the days of Ocean’s Eleven in 2001. The two have been friends for a while now after starring in many movies side by side. Other films the two have worked on include Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002), Ocean’s Twelve (2004), and Money Monster (2016)

This fifth movie together is the first time the two stars are jumping back into the romantic comedy world. The last time George Clooney starred in a room com was One Fine Day in 1996. The same goes for Julia; the last RomComs she starred in were Notting Hill 23 years ago and My Best Friends Wedding 25 years ago. After twenty years and change, the two are hopping right back into the waters of the genre. In a recent interview with The New York Times, Julia Roberts said that when she read the script for the movie, she thought, “This only works if it’s George Clooney,” and coincidentally, George Clooney thought the same of her.

Ticket to Paradise is set to release only in theaters on October 21st, 2022.
