One of the biggest hits in horror this year was X. To add to the surprises, it will follow up with a prequel titled Pearl, which releases on September 16. Deadline has confirmed that Ti West will his gory horror film trilogy with MaXXXine, which had a teaser during the premiere of the X prequel at Midnight Madness in Toronto. The teaser can be seen via Deadline.

Ti West had set it together with X, although we did not catch it at the time. As Mia Goth played both Pearl and Maxine, it set her for the prequel to see a young Pearl, but also for audiences to see the aftermath of the first film. It will see a continuation of her adventure to fame in Los Angeles. Unlike the prequel that releases this week, the sequel has not been shot. It has been green-lit by A24 and is being fast-tracked to release as soon as possible. The director will also pen the script of the sequel, as he did with the two previous films.
